Coenzyme Q10 (Ubiquinone) supports cellular energy production.* The Coenzyme Q10 in this formula is Kaneka Q10®, produced in Japan using a patented fermentation process developed by Kaneka Corporation. This naturally derived form is identical in structure to the CoQ10 found in the human body and helps support normal energy metabolism.*
Ubiquinone, also known as coenzyme Q10 (CoQ10), supports the body' natural energy producing processes at the cellular level.* It is a naturally occurring compound found throughout the body and plays an essential role in cellular energy metabolism.* The Coenzyme Q10 in this formula is Kaneka Q10®, a naturally fermented form produced in Japan using a patented process by Kaneka Corporation. It has the same molecular structure as the CoQ10 naturally produced in the body.* Medium-chain triglycerides (MCTs) from coconut oil help support the absorption and utilization of CoQ10 while the prebiotic inulin supports nutrient bioavailability and provides nourishment for beneficial gut bacteria.*

Coenzyme Q10 is a vitamin-like compound found in every human cell. Hence its second name - "ubiquinone", from ubiquitous quinone, or "ubiquitous quinone". Ubiquinone is contained in cell's "energy stations" - mitochondria, where approximately 95% of all the body's energy (ATP) is produced through oxidative phosphorylation. In this process, it acts as an essential electron carrier. Ubiquinone supports cellular energy production and is an important contributor to body's defenses against oxidative stress, helping to protect cells from damage caused by free radicals.
The highest concentrations of ubiquinone are found in energy-demanding organs such as the heart, brain, liver, and lungs, where it helps support normal cellular energy production.*
As we age, the body's natural synthesis of ubiquinone and its absorption from food sources tend to decrease. Even in younger adults, dietary intake alone may not fully meet the body's needs for this nutrient. However, even at a young age, food intake cannot always compensate for the body's need for this valuable substance. For perspective, obtaining about 15 mg of ubiquinone per day, from food would require consuming roughly 1.5 kg (3.3 lbs) of baked trout, 500 g (1.1 lbs) of lean beef, or 600 g (1.3 lbs) of peanuts. The actual absorption of CoQ10 from food sources varies among individuals.*
